Nerf guns are typically seen as boys’ toys, which is understandable from all the branding and stereotypes of boys playing at war and using whatever they can as guns. Your own boys may have a range of extreme weapons designed to obliterate their enemies.

But what about your girls? Should they make do with these masculine toys when they would prefer something that is better suited to their own needs? The good news is that there are some alternative Nerf guns for girls out there.

Aren’t Nerf guns unisex?

Before we look at these different guns and the branding behind them, it is important to point out that any child should be able to use the gun they want.

Any endorsement for these guns as a toy for girls is purely because of their appealing design and their functionality in the Nerf world, rather than anything to do with divisions between genders.

Girls can use the massive Zombie themed blasters and boys can have a go with the models highlighted here.

Still, the Nerf Rebelle series is a big hit with teen girls and it is easy to see why.

With that out of the way, let’s look at why the Nerf Rebelle range is such a hit with girls and their parents. For a start, you get a series of guns that don’t have the same sort of intensity or violent connotations as some of the more “masculine” options.

They are prettier, sometimes smaller, and look like they would appeal more to girls. The color schemes tie in with those often seen in pre-teen clothing and that pop-punk vibe.

The designs look like a compromise between the two worlds where little sisters can play too. You definitely get this impression from the branding and packaging too. At the same time, the range of guns and weapons in this series suggests that girls could form their own little sisterhood and create their own teams and rules of warfare away from the boys.

Perhaps using a Nerf Rebele could be a bit of a badge of honor. When you add in the collectible darts, there is a lot here that makes this series of Nerf guns for girls its own special little world.

Nerf Rebelle weapons are also more interesting and diverse.

On the subject of that range of weapons, you will also notice that there are more bows in this series than in other Nerf ranges. The idea here is that this will appeal to girls that like the idea of being archers rather than using guns.

It is certainly a more skilled weapon and they get to emulate cinematic heroes like Katniss Everdeen and Mulan. Then there are the blasters and bows that have a secret agent and spy theme.

There are clever decoders and messages on darts that add a story to the gameplay.

13 of the best Nerf guns for girls.

The majority of girl Nerf weapons listed below are from this Nerf Rebelle range – partly because it really is the best Nerf range for girls and because there are so many options. But, there are a few others thrown in to help you think outside of the box a little bit.

Nerf Rebelle Guns.

1) Nerf Rebelle Pink Crush Blaster

Nerf Rebelle Pink Crush BlasterCheck on Amazon

The first weapon I want to talk about is this Pink Crush Blaster. In terms of its size, it looks like a more formidable weapon than some of the others in this range. It should be able to hold its own against the boys with the ability to fire darts up to 75 feet. Players can also turn this into a crossbow for alternative scenarios.

I love the graphics on the side that look a lot more punky and tattoo-like than other wings. The combination of black and pink will always go down well with teens too. Just be aware that this is an Amazon Exclusive, so might be a little harder to find.

Pros
  • A blaster that is more like a boys weapon for traditional play
  • The punky Rebellle graphics on the side
Cons
  • As this is an Amazon exclusive, it might not be the easiest to find

2) Nerf Rebelle Power Pair Pack

These guns are like the little system of the blaster above. There is a similar look with the black handle white body and the use of purple and pink graphics. These small blasters are great little secondary weapons for sneaking up on the enemy.

There is a nice ergonomic trigger, storage for the darts, and a simple firing mechanism. Kids can use both at the same time for double the impact or you could let two siblings share the pack.

Pros
  • Dual shooters allow for a different way to play
  • They work well as a secondary to the blaster
Cons
  • Limited ammunition, as is expected with this sort of gun

3) Nerf Rebelle The Divergent Series Training Pack

This is another blaster that looks more like a model for the boys in terms of its shape and scale. But there are the same details in the graphics that tie this in with the Rebelle series. This time there is a nice use of black and teal with a flame symbol from the Divergent series.

The set comes with additional stickers from this series for further customization. What I also love about this pack is that you get two target stands so kids can practice their aim and really immerse in the idea of training for special missions.

Pros
  • The training targets
  • The attention to detail with the design and stickers
Cons
  • The scenario might be more interesting than the blaster itself

4) Nerf Rebelle Spylight Blaster

There is a common theme throughout this Rebelle range of these weapons being used by spies and secret agents. This is perfect for girls that want to emulate the roles of strong female characters without playing in more traditional warfare battles.

This blaster has a removable flashlight on top that can decode the messages in the special message darts in the pack. This is actually one of the most well-thought-out concepts I have seen in the Nerf world.

The only downside is that there are only 3 message darts, so the novelty may wear off quickly.

Pros
  • The clever design of the decoder flashlight
  • The design of the blaster
Cons
  • There are only three darts with messages for the decoder

5) Nerf Rebelle Angel Aim Mini Blaster

This one has my least favorite design out of these girls’ Nerf guns. The others have a cooler look for teens and pre-teens with a more graphic style. This one looks a little cheaper and for a younger player with the simple blocks of color and star decals.

It comes with two darts and is another stealthy secondary weapon for sneaking up on people. It should be easy to use and a nice back-up alongside the bigger blasters. But, the dual shooters of the Power Pair are probably the better option.

Pros
  • Another compact option as an alternative to blasters
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • A bit more childish in style

Nerf Rebelle Bows

6) Nerf Rebelle Agent Bow

This Bow is very pretty, with a sleek shape and wing effect. It also has a nice color scheme of purple and teal. But, it also packs a punch with three pink arrows that fly 85 feet and whistle as they do so. This is a nice nod to some of the whistling darts that you get with other Nerf weapons.

There is also a quiver on the bow and, because this is another secret agent themed toy, you get another decoder for the messages on the arrows. Again, this adds an extra element to the gameplay that you don’t see with some of the male-focused weapons.

But, it does also mean that you need plenty of batteries on hand.

Pros
  • The pretty design on the wings of the bow
  • The whistling arrows
Cons
  • The need for batteries for the decoder

7) Nerf Rebelle Agent Bow Blaster

This bow automatically looks more deadly than the previous model, with the more spiky shape and the large pre-loaded quiver for the arrows. Again, there is a fun purple and teal look with pink accents and tips on the arrows.

The function is very much the same as the other bows, with a simple firing mechanism that allows players to perfect their archery skills in style. All kids need to do is load it up with the darts and then fire them off with the simple trigger system.

The quiver rotates to line up the arrows for players and the arrows whistle 90ft through the air.

Pros
  • The design has a different feel to that of the other Agent Bows
  • You get the same long-range arrows
Cons
  • None – this is a big box ticker in terms of quality, ease of use, and design

8) Nerf Rebelle Strongheart Bow

The Strongheart bow is an attractive option that is the more basic model in the range, a good choice for girls that haven’t used a Nerf bow before and need something simple to use. You can load it up with 4 darts and fire them off with ease up to 75ft, which is a little less than the more high-end bows.

Still, there is a message dart in the pack for use with the decoder there are also some of the Rebelle collectible darts that have fun patterns on them. These darts are sold separately so kids can build up a bigger collection with time.

Pros
  • A great first weapon for girls new to the concept
  • A great range of darts and collectible items
Cons
  • Start here, but consider upgrading to something more interesting and with more darts

9) Nerf Rebelle Guardian Crossbow Blaster

An alternative to a more traditional archery bow is a crossbow. This is a nice midway point between a bow and a blaster. Load 6 darts in the blaster, pull the slide back and pull the trigger.

The crossbow automatically rotates for ease of use and the darts have a range of 75feet. The color scheme and design on the side are almost identical to the pink crush blaster too, so they would work brilliantly together But, this is a discontinued model, so you have to be prepared to search around and maybe pay a little more than you expected.

Pros
  • The crossbow style is a nice blend of styles for active warfare
  • The way that it compliments the Pink Crusher
Cons
  • A discontinued model that might be difficult to find

10) Nerf Rebele Diamondista Blaster Toy Dart Gun

This last bow is another one that has a younger, more childish look than the others. There is a cheaper feel in the plastic components and the design. But, it is clearly a Rebelle model with the logo on the side and strong use of purple.

Also, you get two message darts for the decoder and one collectible dart. Although tiny in comparison to the other crossbow, it should fire the darts for the same distance. Of course, this all depends on power, aim, skill, and other environmental variables.

Pros
  • The smaller weapon is still pretty effective
  • It comes with two different types of dart
Cons
  • This one does feel a bit more childish

Other Nerf Guns For Girls to consider

11) Nerf Zombie Strike Hammershot Blaster

This blaster looks really cool and is perfect for girls that want to join the boys in the games of Zombie Strike warfare. The gun has a fun color scheme with black, purple, green, and orange, blending the traditional Zombie Strike acidic tones with the girlier ones.

This is a great unisex toy that is also great for kids of different ages. Players get a pull-back hammer blasting weapon with 5 darts from the official Zombie Strike series.

The rotating drum makes it easier for players to reload for rapid shots too, so this should turn out to be a big hit with a lot of players.

Pros
  • The striking color scheme that blends themes together
  • The simple firing mechanism
Cons
  • Another Amazon-exclusive model, which could lead to some issues with availability

12) Nerf Fortnite SMG-E Blaster

This gun has a different mechanism for rapid-fire with a motorized blaster and acceleration button. Motorization always has its pros and cons. On one hand, you get the power and speed in the rapid-fire approach.

On the other, you need to be sure you have batteries on hand. This gun will be a lot of fun for girls that want to try out the sort of weapons that their older siblings use, but is still small enough not to be too difficult to use.

You get 6 Nerf Elite darts here. Also, this is part of the Fortnite range, which makes it even more appealing for gamers. The authentic orange and purple design lend itself to a girl’s collection too.

Pros
  • The Fortnite themed design with a nice purple finish
  • 6 Nerf Elite darts with rapid-fire
Cons
  • The motorized functions do require batteries.

13) Nerf Fortnight Llama Microshots Blaster

Last, but certainly not least with this girl Nerf guns, we have this model that is also in the Fortnite range. To be honest, the appeal here is mostly in the design rather than the impact in battle.

It is shaped like a llama, which could be more than enough for teenage girls because it is such a cool concept. The design is straight out of the game and you can shoot Elite darts from the mouth of this tiny little weapon.

You don’t get many darts in the pack, so it might be a good idea to pay some more to go with the weapon. Either way, it is a fun way to confuse your enemy and a nice little collector’s piece for the future.

Pros
  • The cool concept with the Fortnite Llama’s head
  • A simple secondary weapon for quick shots
Cons
  • It doesn’t come with many darts.

Choosing the best Nerf guns for girls.

As you can see, there are some brilliant Nerf weapons for girls that are actually more interesting and cooler than some of the models for boys. Almost all of the designs in the Rebelle range are stylish with a look that teens will love.

When you add in the special secret agent features like the decoder, you get another layer to gameplay. The wide range of bows instead of blasters is a clever way to diversify the range and brings girls something that can better connect with.

Whatever girl Nerf guns you choose, make sure that it has the features and look your child will love and the ease of use to quickly bring them into this Nerf world.
