Convertible strollers can be an absolute life-saver for parents that want a more adaptable mode of transport for their children. Perhaps you have many young children and need a stroller that will convert into different forms depending on your needs that day. Perhaps you simply want a stroller that will convert as your child grows with different modes.

The Best Convertible Strollers Around Right Now

1) Evenflo Pivot Xpand Modular Travel System with Infant car seat

The first four models that I want to look at are ones that are convertible for the inclusion of a car set/child seat. This first option stands out because of the promise of 22 different configurations. You can set the seat height to different levels and use reclining options as your child grows. There is also the chance to add a child seat on the back to turn this from a single to a convertible double stroller once you have another baby. Like many of the products I have included, you can choose between a front-facing and parent-facing configuration.

There are lots of features here that I know parents will appreciate, such as the canopy, large front wheels, and the lock on the frame. I also like the fact that they didn’t hold back with the dimensions here, unlike some smaller options. First of all, you get a child seat that will be suitable for older and larger babies. Then there is the extra-large storage basket underneath that is 2 ft.

Unfortunately, there are some complaints about the folding mechanism on this stroller. It seems that you do have to watch your fingers a little bit. There are also those that question the durability of the wheels.

The design isn’t going to work for everyone but you can’t deny that there are lots of options here for a single or convertible double stroller.

2: Evenflo Vive Travel System

The popularity of the Evenflo product above means that I also want to take a moment to consider their Vive option. The stroller element does have a lot going for it with the comfortable padding, the canopy, the tray at the front, and the 50lb capacity, which should make it suitable for slightly larger and older kids. From there you can adapt the stroller to put in the Enhance Infant Car Seat for your children as needed.

One thing that I particularly like about this model is the attention to detail with the parent area. It is nice for us to have our own space available for our own things. It is easier to take calls when there is a cell phone compartment. There is also a cup holder and additional storage underneath. I also like the patterns on the design, such as the cute Spearmint Spree model. It is a much fresher look than all-black (or Gotham/charcoal/atmosphere/some other cool name for black).

The downside here is that this isn’t the easiest model to put together and there are options that are more adaptable and user-friendly.

If you need something solid and simple and are keen on using a car seat in a stroller, this is an attractive, secure option.

3) Chicco Bravo Trio Travel System

Next up, I want to talk about this Chico model. This is another combination product where you get the two different elements – the traditional stroller and the Chico Key Fit 30 Infant Car Seat. This explains why this option, and many like it, are more expensive than the convertible models that start off as bassinets.

The stroller itself has a lot going for it with the child tray, the cup holder, the one-handed folding system, and the canopy. As needed, you can bring in that car seat to use with smaller children. All you have to do is take out the stroller seat, leaving that canopy in place, and then attach the car seat.

One thing that does concern me about this option is the number of comments criticizing the construction. There are some users that have noticed the handle wobbling a little when adjusted. There are also some clicking sounds from the frame. This suggests that this might not be the most durable option on this list. Perhaps this is something that we need to be careful of when choosing a model designed for car seats rather than with built-in bassinets?

If you can get past any possible issues with the durability of this product, there is a lot to like in the design and ease of use.

4) Graco FastAction Fold Jogger Travel System

The next option is from Graco, a company that most of us have come to trust when it comes to this sort of product. The reason that I wanted to talk about this model is that it is a jogger. The majority of strollers chosen here are fairly straightforward, aside from one of the ones below that claims to be all-terrain.

I can instantly see that the jogger elements in the specification are on-point with the use of the thick tires, the locking front swivel wheel, and the padding on the seat. There is also a canopy and multiple reclining options for the child. When you want to use this with younger children you can use the compatible Graco 33 LX Infant Car Seat. As for the design, personally, I am drawn more to the “Chilli red” option with its fun racing stripe on the seat. It ties in with that jogger style quite nicely.

However, there are some issues here with the weight allowance and the risk of punctures to those air-filled tires. Is 35lbs really big enough to keep your child secure in this for long?

This is ideal for those that want a blend between a convertible stroller and a jogger. There are limitations but not so many to hold it back too far.

5) BABY JOY Baby Stroller, 2 in 1 Convertible Carriage

The next set of products are those that are convertible from their bassinet form into something as the child gets older. These can be more appealing because of their in-built adaptability, their lower cost, and their looks. They have the potential to help parents with newborns and then provide that comfortable mode of transportation for years to come.

The first option is the least adaptable of the bunch. This is a 2-in-1 model with a bassinet that turns into a stroller. The bassinet is cute enough and has good size, adjustable canopy, and a foot cover. The frame then adjusts to turn it into the stroller with the tilting cushion, the 5 point harness, and a better view for the child. I really like some of the finer details here with the use of foam on the handles, the size of the basket, and the cupholder. There is also the promise of a great suspension system for extra security.

I have noted that many parents only find this easy to use once they have gotten over the long assembly process. It seems that perseverance does pay off here. Once it is together correctly, it is stable and pretty easy to steer. I encourage anyone reading this from Baby Joy to add a little more joy to this process with better instructions.

6) Cynebaby Baby Stroller Bassinet Pram Carriage Stroller

Next is this option from Cynebaby. Like many of these types of products, there is the basic transition from the bassinet for newborns into the stroller seat for older children. They say that the upper age limit is 36 months, which is pretty standard. This will depend on the size of your own child so use your best judgment.

Straight away, I could appreciate the number of features included here for the security of the child and the convenience of the parent. There is plenty of cushioning and a foot cover on the bassinet. Yet, there is also a wrist strap and a mosquito net. Once the product converts down into the stroller you can enjoy the benefits of the 5 point harness, the canopy over the top, and the storage beneath.

There aren’t many major flaws here in this design and one of the bigger issues here is the time taken to set it up when heading out. Again, patience is a virtue, although I appreciate that this isn’t going to help when you have fussy kids that really don’t want to get strapped in. There are also some that say it is bigger than expected, so double-check the dimensions before buying.

This is a great choice for parents that are happy to take the time to set this up and prioritize those extra little details for comfort and safety.

7) Infant Baby Stroller for Newborn and Toddler

This next option is another choice from Cynebaby. I wanted to stick with this company to show you the consistency in their range in regard to both the features and the positive comments. The bassinet feature for newborns has many of the same features, such as the mosquito net, foot cover, and padding. There is also the same weight allowance and adjustments on the frame and reclining stroller seat. This is the model that claims to be “all-terrain” because of the wheels and suspension. I will leave you to be the judge of that.

I will be honest. One of my reasons for picking this out is the design. The model above has some nice colors with pinkish-brown and gray-blue. However, this one goes all out with the gold frame and purple Lycra on the canopy. There is a sense of bling here that will turn heads far more than any dull black model.

There are very few complaints about this product. Some have questioned its value but saying that the features and materials aren’t what they expected for the price paid. However, this model is under $200 so perhaps their standards were just too high?

If you want a fun stroller that adapts with your newborn and still provides security and comfort, you can’t go too wrong with this option.

8) Belecoo Baby Stroller for Newborn and Toddler

Next is this model from Belecoo. There are fewer angles here than on some adaptable, convertible models as there is the bassinet mode, the seat model, and then a slight reclining function. However, you do still get the choice of front-facing or parent-facing configurations. I have chosen this one because of the sense of high quality in the frame and general build.

There are some nice details in the bassinet with the ventilation on the sides and it is nice to see the cell phone holder and cup holder for the parent too. There are also some nice color choices and the linen rose is especially pretty if you want that more traditional girly color rather than something that is so gender-neutral.

Most find that this is pretty easy to use and recommend it to other parents, even with the lack of instructions. One potential downside here is that this is a heavier model than some strollers. That is because it isn’t out to be a lightweight option with an aluminum frame or other weight-reducing measures. Instead, the company is clear that this is going to weigh more at 27.78lbs. Keep this in mind before buying one.

Once you get this set up you should appreciate the quality and the options available for younger children.

9) Grepatio Portable Baby Stroller

Next up is this Grepatio stroller, which has a similar idea to those above with the different modes. There is the 180-degree angle sleep mode for newborns, the 145-degree rest mode for toddlers and the 100 degrees sit and watch mode. This gives some variation for parents as kids age or for different situations.

There are some nice features on-board here with the UV-protection canopy, the front handlebar, and the padding for the security of your child. There is also the calf rest for comfort, the storage options, and the one-click folding mechanism. As with some of the other products in this guide, some parents have struggled a little with the assembly process.

It doesn’t help that there are those that mention rattling noises coming from the frame. Yet, most like what they receive. The minority are those that find that the seat is so high up that they struggle to see over the canopy as they are walking.

The pros and cons of this convertible stroller.

If you are tall enough to see over the top then you should have few issues with this stroller. It is an adaptable model that suits lots of situations.

10) Graco UNO2DUO Stroller

The last product I will offer for contention here is something a little bit different. So far, we have looked at strollers that convert for car seats and those that convert from in-built bassinets. This one goes a little further with the bassinet-style seat, the child seat, and then the chance to add on a ride-on feature for older children.

Therefore, this is one that families can really grow with as they get larger. There are different settings for both types of seats, including front-facing and parent-facing modes. Then you can add 5 inches to the back for a place for older kids to stand. I really like the concept here of full adaptability for the whole family and the fact that you can also use a compatible car seat if you want to.

However, this does seem to be better in theory than in practice for the eldest child. Some will not have quite enough space and may not be able to see over the canopy of the bassinet at the higher setting. This functionality also means that the seat can’t recline that far. I give Graco top marks for inventiveness but urge them to make a couple of tweaks for the next-gen option.

There is potential here for the right family. This could work in many different ways but only if you can be sure of the comfort of the eldest child.

Things to consider before purchasing

Some parents and bloggers will focus on the former and look for frames that can take car seats as needed. These can work well but aren’t always the most practical or cost-effective. That is why I will provide reviews for a broader range of the best convertible strollers. Before that, let’s look at some important considerations for finding the right model of a stroller that grows with baby .

What style of conversion do you need?

As I mentioned above, you can find something with a detachable stroller seat that converts for use with a car seat. If this is the best option for your needs then look for products with their own car seat included in the box. The alternative is a stroller that is suitable for newborns and kids up to 36 months. This involves a bassinet and adaptable frame so that one product evolves over time. Choose a convertible stroller which can hold a second seat or two infant car seats as well.

How many adjustments are on offer?

You may find yourself surprised at the differences between the products here. Some are basic with a few different modes for reclining the seat. Others will go further with height options, front-facing and parent-facing options, and maybe even a ride-on feature at the back.

It is easy to adjust?

Always read user reviews from parents to see if they can set this up with ease. Find out if there is a complicated process every time you want to switch between the different modes. Also, look at comments about the longevity and construction issues based on that adaptable frame.

Is it comfortable for the child?

There has to be the same level of attention to detail in the specification for each element of the stroller. The bassinet must have padding and be warm with a good canopy and foot cover. The stroller chair must have the right cushioning, angles and safety harness. Suspension on any all-terrain wheels helps too.

Is it convenient for the parent?

Aside from the ease of assembly, do you get any additional helpful features on-board? For example, what is the storage like underneath? Are there any cup holders or special compartments for phones? Can you adjust the handle?

Choosing The Best Convertible Stroller For Your Children.

Take your time to decide which style of stroller that grows with baby is best for your needs and your child’s comfort. Then be careful to compare the specifications and user reviews. Find out if this is really the model with the best adaptations for long term use. Create a list of priorities and a clear budget and find the most practical option available.
